The Dallas Mavericks will have the services of second-year point guard Dennis Smith Jr. and rookie phenom Luka Doncic when they take on the Houston Rockets Wednesday night.

Dennis Smith Jr. missed the previous game against the Boston Celtics with a wrist injury, while Luka Doncic was listed as questionable due to an illness.

The Mavs enter Wednesday with a record of 9-9, eighth place in the Western Conference. They defeated the Celtics, 113-104, on Saturday without Dennis Smith Jr., who is averaging 14.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game on the season. The high-flyer is shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from beyond the arc and 65.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Luka Doncic is many people's frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award. The 19-year-old is putting up averages of 19.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 45.3 percent from the floor, 39.6 percent from the 3-point line and 78.1 percent from the charity stripe.

The Mavs are looking for their third win in a row. This is the first time they are facing off against the Rockets, who are coming off a loss to the Washington Wizards despite getting 54 points from reigning MVP James Harden.

With Dennis Smith Jr. back in the lineup and Luka Doncic playing, the Mavs have a good shot at defeating the Rockets.
