Shaquille O'Neal is right: players with the last name that has ā€œvicā€ on it are good shooters. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic probably learned that just recently after witnessing his Mavs teammate Boban Marjanovic.

During Serbia's Olympic qualifying game against Puerto Rico, Marjanovic banked a wide-open corner triple to the delight of everyone watching the game. Of course, his Mavs BFF in Doncic saw that, too, and couldn't help but share how impressed he is of his teammate (or not?).

It's hard to blame Luka Doncic for his reaction, though. After all, Boban Marjanovic made just one 3-pointer during the 2020-21 season with the Mavs despite having eight attempts. He did have four in his first season in Dallas, but let's be honest, no one expects a giant like Bobi to take a triple.

Given his size and role, it is not surprising to see Marjanovic unguarded from beyond the arc. However, teams in the NBA and in international competition better worry about him now splashing those long-range bombs.

For his part, Doncic is probably happy to see the Mavs big man work on his offensive arsenal. Dallas could really use some help when it comes to shooting, so that improvement from Marjanovic is certainly welcome.

As for his own international duty, Luka has put Slovenia one win away from the Olympics after destroying Venezuela in their semi-final game. He scored 23 points and recorded nine rebounds and 13 assists in the 98-70 win.
