Goran Dragic finds himself in a state of limbo after getting traded to the Toronto Raptors as part of the Kyle Lowry sign-and-trade. Dragic is apparently interested in playing with fellow Slovenian Luka Doncic on the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic was asked about this at his Tuesday press conference for his new $207 million extension. Naturally, he didn't want to get fined:

Luka Doncic would surely love to play with Goran Dragic in the NBA. Doncic and Dragic played together when Slovenia won gold at EuroBasket 2017, and the veteran guard would be a nice upgrade next to Doncic. The Mavs haven't really made any significant additions to the roster in free agency, with Tim Hardaway Jr. re-signing and a deal for Reggie Bullock being the biggest moves. Dragic would help ease Doncic's playmaking burden.

Dragic recently publicly expressed a desire to move on from the Raptors, though he tried to clarify his comments. The veteran guard and the Raptors are reportedly going to talk out their situation during Summer League, though Fischer notes this might not be resolved until September.

Toronto could certainly use Dragic after losing Lowry, but if he doesn't want to be there, perhaps something does get worked out as he's in the final year of his contract. Maybe he winds up with Doncic after all.
