The Dallas Mavericks may have lost bitterly in an overtime match against the Los Angeles Lakers, but Luka Doncic made sure that Mavs fans would have something to celebrate about before heading home.

According to ESPN, Doncic is the youngest player ever to notch a triple-double against the Purple and Gold franchise. Interestingly, he is also the youngest player to achieve such stat line against a LeBron James team — all-time.

He finished the game with 31 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists. At only 20 years of age, it's nothing short of spectacular that he's managed to achieve such a feat. The fact that LeBron James, his idol, recorded a triple-double of his own (39 points, 12 rebounds, and 19 assists) makes the game all the more special.

Everyone knows how special of a basketball talent Luka is. His performance so far this season has already outperformed his equally legendary rookie year. While four games are still too small a sample size, it's still incredible how he's averaged 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Moreover, he has built a promising partnership with Kristaps Porzingis that's already making huge returns for the team.

Doncic is also blessed with strong role players, as the Mavs have one of the deepest benches in the league. They will be a problem for teams to deal with come playoff season. The scariest thing about the team's depth is still Doncic, though. One can only imagine what type of passes he'll make to open teammates.

The Slovenian wonderboy has been the focal point of this Mavs team last season and this year. We can only expect more of the same from him over what hopefully will be a long and successful career.
