A lot has been said about Luka Doncic's feelings about the Dallas Mavericks, particularly his apparent distrust in the front office that has led to trade speculations. However, Mavs legend Jason Terry is not buying those talks.

According to the Jet, it is clear the Slovenian star loves the city of Dallas, and while Luka wants to win like all NBA players, he is not one to concern himself about the front office dealings. With that said, Terry doesn't see the youngster going anywhere despite the trade rumors.

“It’s always interesting when you see articles and you see people put things out there but you never see direct quotes from Luka himself. And me knowing Luka the way I do is he’s a hooper. But he’s not concerned about what management got going on and analytics and all that. He’s a hooper,” the one-time champion with the Mavs said on CBS Sports Radio, per Dallas Morning News.

“And if you watched him in these playoffs, you understand that. Right now he’s busy in Slovenia, getting ready for the Olympics. And so I know, and trust, you know, Cuban, and the powers that be to do the right things to put the necessary pieces around him. And you know, he loves the city of Dallas. I mean, that’s the city, that gave him his start. And when you watch him play, he wears the city on his chest and on his back. He’s all in when it comes to Dallas. So I don’t buy into the rumors. And I haven’t seen anything or heard anything of it from his end.”

Luka Doncic is largely expected to sign a rookie scale max extension with the Mavs that will net him over $200 million in five years, but there have been concerns regarding his future in Dallas after the front office chaos that led to the exits of head coach Rick Carlisle and general manager Donnie Nelson. There have been fears he could as for a trade since he is said to be unhappy with how things are going.

As Jason terry said, though, Mavs fans should have nothing to worry about. Besides, trade talks and  speculations can be overblown and overexaggerated by the media at times, so it is always better to take such news with a grain of salt.

Doncic is still in Slovenia to help his nation qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. Mavs faithful, however, will surely be waiting for his return in Dallas in hopes he officially signs his extension and commit to the franchise long-term.
