The Dallas Mavericks will face off against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday in a marquee matchup between two Western Conference teams with championship aspirations. Mavs star Luka Doncic has been dealing with an ankle injury and it goes without saying that his status for Wednesday's tilt against LeBron James and Co. will be crucial for Dallas.
Unfortunately, it appears as though Doncic will be forced to sit out against the Lakers. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Mavs have already ruled out their superstar ahead of Wednesday's clash:
The Mavericks now say Luka Dončić (left ankle soreness) will be out Wednesday against the Lakers. https://t.co/IPT6ExyPY6

Doncic has missed the past two games for the Mavs due to soreness on his left ankle. Dallas has won both games without their All-Star point guard, though, so this could bode well for their chances against the Lakers.
LA, on the other hand, has listed LeBron James as probable, while Anthony Davis is questionable due to a knee problem. It is also worth noting that Talen Horton-Tucker was recently placed under the league's health and safety protocols and for their benefit, we just hope that there aren't any other players who will suffer the same fate as that of THT.
In spite of the injuries, Wednesday's bout between these two sides should still be a must-watch contest.
