Highly touted Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has plenty of fans, and apparently, Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic is one of them.

Young had the first big night of his career against the Cleveland Cavaliers, pouring in 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting from the field, including an efficient 6-of-14 from the 3-point line in a 133-111 victory.

The sharpshooting guard was on all night, hitting several of his signature deep 3-pointers closer to the half-court logo than the 3-point line. The deadly shooting also opened up driving lanes, allowing Young to get a couple easy layups as well as assist on a few dunks.

Young used Twitter to comment on his impressive night, preaching patience to his fans that would like to see him perform like this every night:

Doncic was quick to reach out and congratulate his fellow rookie, tweeting out his approval after Young's masterful game:

The young Slovenian player has been hot to start the season as well, becoming the youngest 20-point scorer in Mavs franchise history after dropping 26 points on the Minnesota Timberwolves over the weekend.

Luka Doncic and Trae Young are linked by a draft day trade. The Hawks selected the Doncic as the third pick and then immediately swapped him for Young (No. 5 pick) and an extra first-round pick.

Both rookies came into the draft with sky-high expectations. Young drew many comparisons to Stephen Curry and Doncic was expected to win Rookie of the Year by most pundits.

It's nice to see the rookie class supporting each other through what is sure to be a long season with plenty of ups and downs. Hopefully, the two can continue their excellent play.
