Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was given the special opportunity to coach Team World in the Rising Stars Challenge last night. However, his team lost 161-144 to Team USA.

After the game, Mavs rookie sensation and Nowitzki's teammate Luka Doncic — the front-runner to win Rookie of the Year this season — joked about how the future Hall of Famer handled the coaching job.

Well, to be fair, Dirk Nowitzki said that he doesn't plan on becoming a coach either, citing that handling the “crazy personalities” and knowing the situations during games were pretty overwhelming for him.

“I don’t think I’m going to be a coach any time soon,” Nowitzki said. “But it was a good experience.”

Although Nowitzki has not officially declared that he will be retiring after this season, the general belief is that he will call it a career given how he is playing. That is why aside from being given the opportunity to coach in the Rising Stars Challenge, the 21-year veteran has also been given a spot to participate in the 3-point contest on Saturday.

Capping off Nowitzki's busy All-Star weekend is his participation in the All-Star Game, where he will be playing for Team Giannis.

Whatever happens to Dirk after he retires, fans will surely support him. For now, he's just enjoying what could be his final All-Star weekend as a player.
