Devonte Graham must be impressed. The NBA recently announced the finalists for individual season awards. Among the candidates for Most Improved Player is Dallas Mavs superstar Luka Doncic.

As terrific of a sophomore season he is having, the Slovenian Sensation, however, doesn't believe he should be among the top three. Instead, Luka Doncic gave the nod to Charlotte Hornets guard Devonte' Graham:

How humble is Luka Doncic? This is even coming from someone who deservedly warranted MVP consideration throughout the season.

Graham appreciates the endorsement:

As much as he denies it, Luka Doncic certainly deserves to be one of the finalists for Most Improved Player. Not only are did his counting stats take a huge jump from his rookie season, his overall efficiency has also improved a lot. Likewise, the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year has done a marvelous job in leading the Mavericks to their first postseason berth since 2016.

Prior to his virtuoso triple-double performance over the Milwaukee Bucks, Luka Doncic is averaging 29.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. These are all up from his already historic debut campaign, where he put up 21.2 points, 7.8 boards, and 6.0 assists, to go along with a sub-par shooting clip of 42.7 percent.

On the flip side, it's also difficult to overlook Luka Doncic's endorsement of Devonte Graham. The Hornets sophomore guard also made significant improvement with his play, primary because he earned more opportunities this season.

This season, Graham turned in averages of 18.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, after barely playing in his debut campaign (14.7 minutes in 46 games). However, unlike with Luka Doncic, the Hornets are nowhere near the level of where the 6-foot-7 star has taken the Mavericks this season.

Fellow first time All-Stars Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans and Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat joined Luka Doncic as the three candidates for this season's MIP.
