A lot was made about the Los Angeles Clippers' egregious tanking display in the final few days of the regular season. LA seemed hell-bent on matching up against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

The Clippers weren't just indifferent about their results in their final two contests. They put on one of the most epic tank jobs you'll ever see. LA needed to as well, because they were facing two bottom-three teams in the NBA: The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Clippers rested basically their entire playing rotation, including their key stars in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for those games. But I guess the bad karma came back to haunt them, as the Mavs have now buried them 2-0, with the series shifting to Dallas.

Mavs star Luka Doncic was asked about the blatant tank job and if it fueled his epic performances in Games 1 and 2. But apparently, Doncic never got the memo, as reported by Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

“I didn’t even know they were doing that until somebody told me in the first game,” Doncic said on the Clippers tank job. “So not really, no.”

Doncic took it a step further, seemingly chastising the Clippers while explaining that true title teams need not be afraid of facing any opponent.

“If you want to win a championship, at the end of the day you’ve got to win against everybody. So I don’t think that makes a big statement. We just go out there and play,” quipped the Mavs star.

Luka Doncic has put on a show for Mavs fans through the first two games, totaling 70 points with 17 rebounds and 18 assists for good measure. It's no stretch to say that Doncic has thoroughly outplayed his Clippers counterpart in Kawhi Leonard.

Game 3 of Clippers-Mavericks is on Friday night.
