Luka Doncic is one of the most promising young players in the 2018 draft class. But apparently, fellow rookies Dallas Mavericks' European star don't envision him as the best player to emerge from the 2018 NBA Draft.

In the NBA's rookie survey, players were asked who they believe will have the best career of the 2018 class and Doncic didn't receive a single vote. Wendell Carter Jr. led the way with 13 percent of the vote, but 17 other players received votes.

This could be due to the fact that most rookies haven't seen Doncic play much in competitive games. Every player listed played collegiately and the rookie class had ample opportunities to watch each other play. Doncic played his games overseas and it's unlikely that many rookies watched too many Real Madrid games last season.

But Doncic could prove his fellow rookies wrong in a big way. The Slovenian born teenager is seen as a “can't miss” European prospect. Doncic isn't an unknown quantity. He was a huge success in the second-best basketball league in the world and he was the youngest MVP in the history of the EuroLeague. Not to mention, Doncic was a revelation in the FIBA EuroBasket during the summer of 2017.

Fans (and apparently players) are often skeptical of European prospects. Darko Milicic, Frederic Weis and Andrea Bargnani are all examples of high draft picks that were all busts in their own right. Unfortunately, Doncic will have to overcome the stigma of the international prospect. But if he needs any motivation, it's all in the survey.
