The Dallas Mavericks are hoping to bring back point guard Yogi Ferrell, according to Mike Fisher of CBS 247 Sports. A solid, if not surprising sentiment, from the Mavs.

As Seth Curry recently agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, the Mavericks will be looking to lock down the 6-foot point guard's return in a near future.

Ferrell got his first stint in the league with the Brooklyn Nets, but shortly went back to the D League until he was signed to a couple of 10-day contracts by the Mavericks.

Having made an impact, he was signed for the rest of the season and beyond, due to his motor and 3-point shooting ability (40 percent in 2016-17, 37 percent last season).

The Mavericks are fresh off locking down a commitment (hopefully serious this time around) from DeAndre Jordan on a one-year, $24.1 million deal, as he basically took his current player-option into Texas, potentially seeing even more in 2019 if re-signed by the team.

Dallas also traded up to draft Luka Doncic with the No. 3 overall pick, though the Slovenian wonder has yet to resume buyout talks with his home club of Real Madrid after becoming the youngest EuroLeague MVP this past month.

Owner Mark Cuban and company are poised to regain their winning ways with a more impactful core, hopeful give Dirk Nowitzki a farewell season to remember.
