More details have surfaced pertaining to the rape allegation centered around Dallas Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis. A recent report details how the 23-year-old allegedly punched the accuser during the incident. This is via Tina Moore of the New York Post:

Former Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis allegedly punched his neighbor in the face as he raped her, police sources told The Post on Sunday.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred right after Porzingis suffered a torn ACL on Feb. 7, 2018:

The woman, who is in her 20s, told the cops about the assault last week and her allegations are considered credible, sources said.

Porzingis' camp has already released an official statement regarding this matter, categorically denying such claims and claiming extortion. The Mavs reportedly knew about the situation when they acquired him from the New York Knicks, and Mark Cuban hasn't offered up a comment.

The 7-foot-3 Latvian has yet to make his debut for his new team as he continues to recover from his knee injury. Porzingis will not play this season, but he has been practicing with Dallas.

This case involving Porzingis is a developing story, and we will be sure to pass along any new information as it comes.
