Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic has officially made it in the NBA. On Wednesday, the 19-year-old Mavs phenom was the recipient of a signed LeBron James jersey following the Mavs' 114-113 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The teenager was visibly buoyed after being handed the priceless piece of memorabilia, which he will surely treasure for a lifetime.

James even added in a brief personal message for the Mavs stud to make the souvenir even more special.

Doncic did not have the best of outings on Wednesday (by his standards, at least) as the rookie was only able to score 14 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 FT), grab five boards, hand out seven assists, and record a single steal in 28 minutes of action. The promising youngster also committed only two turnovers and connected on three out of six attempts from deep.

For his part, James was his usual amazing self, leading his side to its third win in eight contests. LeBron had game-high honors with 29 points (11-19 FG, 5-7 FT) and also contributed two 3-pointers, five rebounds, six assists, three steals, and three turnovers in 39 minutes of playing time.

As for Doncic and the new-look Mavs, this is their fifth straight loss, and they are now 2-6 to start the new campaign. Doncic, however, has been a bright spot, averaging 19.6 points on 45.8 percent shooting, 2.8 3-pointers, 6.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 4.0 turnovers in 34.8 minutes per game.

These remarkable numbers have put Luka Doncic at the very top of the Rookie of the Year race, and has given him a claim as the team's new cornerstone superstar of the future.
