The New York Mets and San Francisco Giants played an incredibly entertaining ball game on Tuesday night. San Francisco earned a 12-11 walk-off victory in the bottom of the 9th after a wild back-and-forth affair. Despite the loss, there were some positives on the Mets side. Francisco Lindor became the first shortstop in Mets history to record three games with at least 5 RBIs.

Lindor, who had previously been mired in a slump, broke out in a major way. The Mets shortstop went 2-4 with 6 RBIs, including this clutch bases clearing triple.

Francisco Lindor was impressed with the team's resiliency despite the loss.

“I'm super proud of everybody here. Everybody came in and fought no matter what, we got down early. We did whatever it took to comeback… that's all we can ask for, for everybody to come out and compete as hard as they can.”

The Mets still hold the third best record in the NL. Additionally, they lead the NL East by a commanding 8 games. The NL East was projected to be one of the deepest divisions in baseball this season, but the Mets are the only team over .500 in the division as of this story's publication.

New York has overcome a significant amount of injuries already this year. Their aforementioned resiliency stems from more than just this game.

Lindor will attempt to keep swinging the bat well following his historic performance. His season numbers still don't jump off the page, but he has now hit safely in three consecutive games.
