According to Tim Healey, New York Mets star pitcher Jacob deGrom is being placed on the Injury List.

Healey stated that deGrom's right forearm is still not right and that the pitcher won't see action until the issue “goes away.”

deGrom is currently having one of the best pitching seasons to date, but has been sidelined due to multiple injuries. He has been having some troubles with his right forearm since April, which led to missing some pitching matchups and even missing the MLB All-star game. There is no timetable for his return, but manager Luis Rojas stated that his injury is “day-to-day”.

With a 47-42 record, the Mets lead the NL East by 2.5 games, with the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves barely behind. The team is currently having one of its better seasons in quite some team but could head into a cold streak if they can't bounce back from losing key players in deGrom and star shortstop Francisco Lindor. Rojas will have to find ways to keep the rotation solid and maintain the offensive afloat. Do not be surprised if they end up trading for someone like Chicago Cubs third basemen Kris Bryant, Joey Gallo, or Max Scherzer to counteract these injuries.

The Mets will attempt to stop a series sweep from happening today against the Pittsburgh Pirates. They will then face the Cincinnati Reds in a three-game series.
