Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace is keeping busy in life after the NBA.

After playing his way into the hearts of the fans in Los Angeles, World Peace wasn't ready to live life in another city, nor was he ready to leave basketball alone completely, feeling deep down he not only still loves the game but wasn't ready to quit basketball just yet.

Recently the 38-year-old was hired as a player development coach for the Los Angeles Lakers G-League affiliate, South Bay Lakers. Having countless battles with some of the best players to play the game such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, the forward has plenty to share. Not only that but being a former defensive player of the year, he has plenty of tricks and wisdom to share with players for both sides of the court.

Two weeks ago, World Peace announced that he would also be joining Ice Cube's Big3 League where retired NBA players can join a draft for a chance to compete at 3-on-3 basketball in the summer. Now it's official as the former DPOY announced he'll be joining Stephen Jackson as a team member of the Killer 3's. Jackson was World Peace's teammate during the infamous Malice at the Palace where they confronted fans in the stands in a fight that is considered one of the NBA's worst moments ever.

Not to mention the Killer 3's are coached by Charles Oakley, it will likely be the most rugged of all the teams on the court in the least bit.

World Peace explained his decision via Sports Illustrated:

Jon Tayler: So why the Big 3?

Metta World Peace: I'm coaching also, for the South Bay Lakers. I'm joining the Big 3. Playing basketball all year. I actually played in a couple of leagues outside the NBA. I love to play basketball, so the Big 3 is cool. Some of my good friends are in it. I watched it last year and I liked it.

JT: What was the pitch like?

MWP: Stephen Jackson asked me to play with him last year, and Jermaine O'Neal too, and I told Steve that I would play with him this year. I couldn't play last year because I was coaching, among some other stuff. But this year I'm going to do it. I made my schedule around it. It's going to be exciting.

You can watch World Peace on Fox Sports next summer when the official second season begins.
