Miami Dolphins Week 12 Predictions

4. Tua shows off for another week

Tua Tagovailoa has had an impressive season when healthy for the Miami Dolphins, despite many people thinking Tua shouldn't be the starting quarterback. It's unclear what people are seeing, because whenever he is on the field, he has produced for Miami. Last week against the New York Jets, he went 27-of-33 for 273 yards and two touchdowns.

When your team has one of the worst offensive lines in football, which is true of Miami, you can't expect your quarterback to put up crazy numbers. Despite the struggles of the offensive line while also having a depleted wide receiver corps due to injuries, Tua has still been able to rack up impressive numbers to help the Dolphins get victories.

Expect him to have another game where he throws for over 225 yards while also producing two touchdowns in the air.

3. Defense continues its fierce play

Miami's defense has stepped up the past four weeks. Dolphins defensive back Xavien Howard came out after the game against the Buffalo Bills and said the team is going back to their old defense. That defense has been perfect for Miami, because they didn't allow more than 17 points in each of their last three games.

If the Dolphins can continue playing defense at this type of level, they have an outside chance of sneaking into playoff position. It would be a miracle for Miami to make the playoffs at this point in the season, but it's still a possibility.

2. Grit to make the playoffs makes them play better

Miami making the playoffs is still a long shot, but as mentioned, it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. The Dolphins' losses against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons could very well come back to be the deciding factor of them not making the playoffs. This would be rough for the Dolphins organization, but they need to use it as motivation and control what they can control.

Expect Miami to come out for the remainder of the season and leave it all on the table. The Dolphins realize that they have a chance to make the playoffs, and they're going to do everything they can to do so.

1. Dolphins win by a last-minute field goal

The Dolphins have some unfortunate losses throughout the season, including back-to-back losses being decided by a last-second field goal. This week it is going to be a close contest against the Panthers, and this time it's going to be Miami kicking the game-winning field goal. The Dolphins are going to win this contest 27-24 to make it four victories in a row.
