The Last Dance helped a lot of NBA fans get through the early parts of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, as people were captivated every week by the docuseries on Michael Jordan and the 1990s Chicago Bulls. The series highlights Jordan's maniacal competitiveness and also created a number of memes.

One of the most memorable scenes involves Jordan and John Michael Wozniak, who was a personal security guard for His Airness. MJ, a notorious gambler, would play games with Wozniak. After winning one of them, he did the Jordan shrug:

This clip-turned-meme quickly became legendary, so it was only natural for Saturday Night Live to spoof it. Keegan Michael Key plays Michael Jordan in the SNL skit, with Heidi Gardner playing Wozniak. Kenan Thompson also makes an appearance as Charles Barkley, while Chris Redd plays Dennis Rodman and Alex Moffat is Phil Jackson.

Check it out:

After Gardner's Wozniak beats Key's Jordan in the quarters game and does the shrug, the skit references the infamous “I took that personally” line and then features more and more ridiculous bets. By the time it's all over, Key's Jordan has taken thousands of dollars, a ring, a gun, pants, glasses and even an evening with Gardner's Wozniak's wife.

The skit does a hilarious job making fun of Michael Jordan's wild gambling habits, with Key and Gardner delivering excellent performances as the two main characters. Thompson's Charles Barkley is also great, as are the other supporting characters involved.

Saturday Night Live can be pretty hit-or-miss these days (with plenty of misses), but they absolutely nailed this one.
