The number five Michigan Wolverines took down the number two team in the country, Ohio State Buckeyes, 42-27.

This was an impressive win for the Wolverines and it looks like they will solidify themselves into a college football playoff position. Michigan has now also won the Big Ten East. This is also their first win over Ohio State in the past decade. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh moves to 1-5 against the Buckeyes.

Ohio State shouldn't have much of a chance of making the College Football Playoffs unless the committee believes that they have a more impressive resume than the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincinnati is undefeated on the season but does not play the same caliber of opponents that Ohio state does.

Michigan had their day on the ground as Hassan Haskins finished the game with 28 carries for 169 yards and five touchdowns. Their offensive line was unstoppable as Ohio State simply had no answer for the run game. If Michigan wins the Big Ten title game they will 100% be one of the final four teams in the country. They will either take on Wisconsin or Iowa in the Big Ten championship game.

This is an important win for the Wolverines. One more loss to the Buckeyes would have had the whole entire country questioning if they were a top team or not. Michigan is going to be in the top four, but it will be interesting to see what the voting committee does with Ohio State.
