The Iowa Hawkeyes have suffered back-to-back losses after being ranked the No. 2 team in the country. Their college football playoff hopes were almost gone after last week's loss to the Purdue Boilermakers 24-7.

Now with another loss to the Wisconsin Badgers 27-7, their hopes are completely gone.

Iowa would've already had the worst loss of the one-loss teams that could be considered for the CFP, and now with another defeat, there's not a chance it's possible. They should've lost three games in a row as they were losing to Penn State before the Nittany Lions quarterback went down.

Their hopes might be gone, but if the CFP wants to put a BIG-10 team in the playoffs they are going to have to hope for Ohio State to lose again, as well as Michigan losing two. If this happens for Iowa, they would need to find a way to win the BIG-10 title. Even if they do this, though, the chances of them making the CFP are slim to none.

Iowa has been carried by their defense all season and unfortunately, it wasn't enough for them Saturday. Iowa had two fumbles in their own territory and their defense couldn't get a stop. The Hawkeyes offense hasn't been good all season but was at its worst against the Badgers. They only had 156 total yards and quarterback Spencer Petras was only 9-19 for 93 yards.

Iowa might have a chance to make a big bowl game, but they can kiss their CFP chances goodbye.
