Major League Baseball had some CBA talks on Monday.

Major League Baseball made some interesting points as they are looking to do a few things differently in the future. In a proposed playoff expansion, there would be 14 teams, and division winners would choose their opponents in a three-game wild-card round. The team with the best record in the league would get a bye into the division series.

Major League Baseball is also considering a system where all non-playoff teams would have a chance at the number one overall pick in the draft. Usually, it was the team with the worst record, they will still have the best odds to get the first overall pick. It would be something similar to how the NBA draft lottery is. The lottery would only be for pics one through 10, and then the draft will continue as it has in recent years.

All of this would be very interesting in Major League Baseball. The league should definitely consider expanding its playoffs but having a team pick who they can play would definitely be an interesting strategy that some would not like. We could also see some salary dumps in the MLB if this is the case as teams would feel that they would not need to spend as much money if they can get into the playoffs with less than 90 wins.

The league is having some more CBA talks in the next few days. There is a very good chance that the MLB gets into a lockdown.
