The Toronto Blue Jays may not have won the World Series, but they can say that they had a successful season overall, making it all the way to Game 7 with a chance of winning the championship. It took a lot of hard work to get them to that position, and of course, the players are the ones who make it all happen. Manager John Schneider also needs his flowers for being able to lead the group.

That's why it's no surprise that the Blue Jays recently made this decision on Schneider's contract, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.

“Ross Atkins says Blue Jays have exercised their 2026 option on John Schneider and are discussing something more,” Davidi wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

There's a good chance that Schneider will get a contract extension with the Blue Jays as they try to run back the success that they had this season. The organization isn't the only group that thinks Schneider deserves his praise, as he is also a finalist for the AL Manager of the Year Award, which will be announced on Nov. 11.

Schneider was able to lead the Blue Jays to their first World Series appearance since 1993. He dealt with some obstacles along the way, having to play without Bo Bichette in the American League Division Series and AL Championship Series. He also had to deal with injuries to Anthony Santander and George Springer.

The Blue Jays won the AL East for the first time since 2015 and had the best record in the league going into the postseason. They had the perfect team that was ready to battle throughout the season, with a mix of veterans and young players.

The hope now is that they can recapture that same success from this season, and carry it into next season so they can get back to the World Series.
