The Boston Red Sox are enjoying every last second of Chris Sale, who has made his long-awaited return to the team. On Thursday, Sale has dominated early against the Minnesota Twins and tossed an immaculate inning in impressive fashion.

Sale stepped up in the bottom of the third and struck out Rob Refsnyder, Andrelton Simmons, and Nick Gordon without tossing a ball. This is just Sale's third start since making his return, and the Red Sox must be thrilled with how everything has gone.

In his first game back with the Red Sox, Sale went five innings and gave up a pair of runs. He followed that up by throwing five shutout innings against the Texas Rangers, and he looked in complete control against the Twins.

As the Red Sox push to gain some ground in the American League East, perhaps performances like this one could help them do so. Remember when Chris Sale was one of the best pitchers in baseball?

If he can pitch like this more often, the Red Sox can certainly gain ground and push for a Wild Card spot, at the very least. So far, it appears that Sale has returned to his form and this is terrific news.
