It's desperate times for the Los Angeles Angels as they continue their historic skid. The Angels even tried using Nickelback walkup songs for Wednesday night's game against the Boston Red Sox. The attempt backfired, with the club losing a franchise-record 14th straight game in brutal fashion, 1-0.
The turn to Nickelback drew an absolutely savage roast from ESPN's Jeff Passan:
The Angels turned to Nickelback walk-up songs to end their losing skid. The baseball gods struck back after their ears started bleeding. The streak is now at 14 losses in a row after a 1-0 loss to the Red Sox, with Mike Trout still sidelined and day-to-day with a groin injury.

Article Continues BelowThis has truly been a nightmare for the Angels after they started the 2022 MLB season on such a high note. They recently fired Joe Maddon after the 12th straight loss, but the luck hasn't changed under interim manager Phil Nevin.
And, as Passan notes, it doesn't help that superstar Mike Trout is currently sidelined with a groin injury. But even before that injury, Trout was going through one of the worst slumps of his career.
It's all coming together in the worst way possible for Los Angeles. The Angels have gone from 27-17 to 27-31, which is somehow still good for second place in the AL West. Of course, that second-place spot is 9.5 games behind the Houston Astros. Los Angeles is also 3.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
There's still plenty of time to turn around this season, but this has truly been a stunning collapse for the Los Angeles Angels. We'll see what kind of stuff they turn to next in an attempt to end this ridiculous losing streak.
