Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani never ceases to amaze. On Tuesday night, Ohtani clobbered a pair of three-run home runs, driving in a career-high eight RBI in a loss to the Kansas City Royals. How did the Angels star follow it up?

Oh, you know, just a casual, eight-inning shutout with 13 strikeouts on the mound in a win over the Royals on Wednesday night. The incredible two-way performance earned Ohtani a spot in the MLB history books, per ESPN Stats and Info.

Ridiculous. Ohtani is the first MLB player with eight-RBI and 13-strikeout games- and he did them on back-to-back nights. During his eight-inning shutout of the Royals, Angels manager Phil Nevin tinkered with the idea of taking Ohtani out after the seventh inning, with the star sitting at 96 pitches.

Ohtani wasn't having any of it. Here's what he said to Nevin, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

I thought about taking him out after the seventh but he was adamant, ‘This is mine.'

“This is mine.” Ohtani wasn't coming out of the game for anything. As Nevin went on to say, the Angels star put them on his back.

Clearly, Ohtani wasn't taking any chances with the Royals, especially after his eight RBIs weren't enough to get the victory the previous night. Well, Nevin's faith in leaving the two-way star in was rewarded.

Ohtani worked a 12-pitch eighth, inducing two weak grounders and a strikeout to finish the day at 108 pitches.

Not before he told Nevin “This is mine” en route to MLB history.
