On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thriller of a Game 3 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays that went 18 innings long. The game mercifully reached its conclusion with Freddie Freeman launching a solo home run in the bottom of the 18th to give the Dodgers the 6-5 win, in similar fashion to the last World Series game that went 18 innings, which also ended in a Dodgers home run in the 18th back in 2018.

With the win, the Dodgers went up 2-1 in the series against the Blue Jays, and it also gave Freeman many personal milestones to add to his legendary resume.

“Over his last 10 World Series games, Freddie Freeman has hit seven home runs and driven in 17 runs. The only other player in MLB history to reach those marks over a span of 10 games in the World Series is Lou Gehrig,” reported OptaSTATS on X, formerly Twitter.

In addition to this, Freeman also became the first player in MLB history to have two walk-off home runs in his World Series career, which included last year's Game 1 grand slam to defeat the New York Yankees.

Overall, things don't get much clutcher than what Freeman displayed on Monday evening.

A huge win for the Dodgers

Now, the Los Angeles Dodgers are just two wins away from hoisting their second straight World Series trophy, but they'll have a lot of work to do against a Blue Jays team that clearly is not going to quit.

Making matters more interesting for both teams will be how they handle their pitching rotations for Game 4, considering that it is set to begin only 17 hours after Game 3 reached its climactic conclusion. On the mound for the Dodgers in this one will be Shohei Ohtani, who reached base an MLB record nine times in the game in Game 3, thanks in large part to five intentional walks from the Blue Jays.

In any case, first pitch of Game 4 is set for Tuesday at 8:00 PM ET, once again from Los Angeles.
