Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić were on the timeline like the rest of us, losing it over an instant classic. After the Los Angeles Dodgers outlasted the Toronto Blue Jays 5–4 in 11 innings to clinch the World Series, LeBron posted, “The 2 best words in sports. GAME SEVEN!!!! Wow what a game!!!” Luka followed with, “What a game!! Wow, congrats @Dodgers.” That’s the city’s basketball royalty tipping caps to baseball’s champs.

The Dodgers made it worthy of the hype. Will Smith smashed the go-ahead homer in the top of the 11th, minutes after Miguel Rojas kept the season alive with a ninth-inning blast. Toronto still threatened late, but Los Angeles wriggled out with a game-ending double play to secure back-to-back titles.

It was drama from the jump. Shohei Ohtani started and battled through a rough third, giving up a three-run homer to Bo Bichette as the Blue Jays surged ahead 3–0.

The Dodgers chipped away with sacrifice flies, a Max Muncy solo shot, and relentless traffic. By the time the 11th rolled around, Smith delivered the final punch, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto closed the door in relief.

The ESPN Box score says it all as Los Angeles hit three homers and turned zero errors on the road in a four-hour nail-biter. The Dodgers finished with 11 hits to Toronto’s 14 and still found the championship plays when it mattered most.

So, yeah, LeBron James and Luka Dončić weren’t wrong. This Game 7 had everything from stars to swings, to jams, and a finish that felt Hollywood. The Dodgers are champs again, and LA’s NBA icons made sure the congratulations hit the feed in real time.
