The New York Yankees are having a phenomenal season. Much of that has to do with the performance of superstar outfielder Aaron Judge. With just over a week before the 2022 MLB All-Star Game, Judge sat down for an interview with former Yankee great and current ESPN personality. David Cone and covered a wide variety of topics. One of which was what it would mean were he to surpass Roger Maris' franchise home run mark of 61 home runs in a single season.

This was not the first time Aaron Judge has been asked that question. In the past, he has simply talked about the team and focusing on winning. But this time, he finally acknowledged how he would feel.

“It would be cool… it would be cool. That's one thing the Yankees are about is history. They have had a lot of great players come through here and to get a chance to be part of that history and do something special like that,” Judge said.

Aaron Judge leads the major leagues with 30 home runs this season. Entering play Sunday night, the Yankees have played 85 of their 162 games, putting him just short of record pace. But Judge has always been a team-first guy, making these comments a breath of fresh air to know that he does also have individual goals.
