Clint Frazier was once viewed as a a can't miss prospect who would be apart of the outfield with the New York Yankees for a long time. He's had his moments but the droughts have lasted far longer.

On Tuesday, the news regarding Frazier took an unexpected turn when it was announced that not only would the Yankees outfielder be heading to the 60-day IL, but he might not play again due to vision problems.

Via ESPN, Yankees manager Aaron Boone explained what exactly was going on.

“We'll see,” Boone said when asked whether Frazier would play again for the Yankees. “Obviously, he's been through a lot and been through a lot of seeing a lot of people and a lot of testing and everything. We'll just try and continue to follow and support him where we can. But as of right now, a little holding pattern. I know he feels well today, so we'll just see.”

Frazier started the year with the Bronx Bombers and saw regular playing time in the outfield. However, he was put on the IL back in July after experiencing multiple instances of dizziness and vision issues with the Yankees. He was on a rehab assignment that started recently but now that has been shutdown for Frazier.

The Yankees are frantically trying to chase down a playoff spot in the American League. They added two bats in Anthony Rizzo and Joey Gallo at the deadline but having Frazier comeback would've been some nice insurance as well for New York. Let's just hope Frazier is able to get things figured out to have a healthy future.
