Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer struggled in Game 3 of the World Series Monday. Scherzer lasted four-plus innings in the game, but allowed five hits and three earned runs. Scherzer is making a promise about his team following the loss.

“We’ve done this our whole season,” Scherzer said about the need to bounce back in Game 4, per the Toronto Sun. “This one will sting tonight, don’t get me wrong. You wouldn’t be human if it didn’t.

“The way our team functions, we’ll have a good effort (on Tuesday.)”

Dodgers slugger Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run in the 18th inning of Game 3. It was one of the longest World Series games in Major League Baseball history. The Blue Jays used nine pitchers in the game, while Los Angeles used 10.

Toronto and Los Angeles play Game 4 on Tuesday night. It is a must-win for the Blue Jays, who have lost back-to-back games.

Toronto is definitely feeling the pain after losing Game 3. George Springer went out of the game with an injury, that required an MRI. It is highly doubtful he will play in Game 4.

“He's obviously a huge part of our lineup,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider said of Springer, per ESPN. “Glad I got him out when I did, and hopefully it didn't make anything worse, but we'll see how he is [Tuesday].”

Schneider acknowledges though that Springer has been really physically limited.

“I feel like he’s being held together with duct tape,” Schneider said before Game 3, per MLB.com. “[His knee] kind of comes and goes, but that’s fine. It was actually a little bit more sore the day of Game 1 for whatever reason as opposed to those off-days. I think he’s fine.”

The Blue Jays are giving Shane Bieber the ball in Game 4. He will be going against Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani had an epic offensive performance in Game 3, with two home runs.
