Gegard Mousasi has now reached the point in his MMA career where he's going to be compared to the champion in the UFC. There has been plenty of talk about how a fight with Israel Adesanya would go if the two ever fought.

The Bellator MMA middleweight champion likes his chances against both Israel Adesanya and Robert Whitaker. The fight taking place on the feet would be the best outcome.

“Listen, he or Whittaker, their standup styles are perfect for me,” Mousasi laughed when asked about a potential UFC/Bellator showdown on The MMA Hour. “I will defeat them. Who are these potato fans that think I can lose? Fuckers. No respect.”

Gegard Mousasi is riding a lot of hype in the MMA world after his quick TKO win over Austin Vanderford. He believes that he proved that he's the best middleweight in the world after that performance.

“Listen, I’m not talking about the Mousasi of one year ago, I’m not talking about the Mousasi of five years ago,” Mousasi continued. “I’m talking about the Mousasi you saw Friday that was 85 seconds. And I’m going to be the best middleweight, and I did it in 85 seconds. What else do that want? From now on, everyone is going to get finished. Everybody.”

A return to the UFC is not on the cards for Gegard Mousasi. He plans to finish his MMA career in Bellator and see if there could potentially be a boxing match available.

“I think if I finish the contract, I do one boxing fight, I don’t know what the point is to go more,” Mousasi said. “I’ve done it all. I think five more fights I can win. I’m not going to do more than that.”
