Jordan Burroughs has been talking about competing in MMA for a long time. The decorated wrestler has been a wanted commodity in the combat sports world.

He was Joe Rogan‘s podcast at one point and explained that he most likely wouldn't be competing in MMA. The reason? His wife didn't want him to compete in the sport.

Recently he tweeted out that he wanted one MMA fight. It didn't take long for that to get shut down.

His wife, Lauren, was quick to jump on Twitter and shut it down. She even tweeted a second time to let people know it definitely wasn't happening.

Earlier in the year, Jordan Burroughs went on The Jim Rome Show and reaffirmed that he didn't have an interest in competing in MMA.

“I’m a big fan of MMA. But at the end of the day, I love wrestling No. 1, and No. 2 I just don’t want to get punched in the face,” Jordan Burroughs said. “It’s such a different sport. In wrestling, if you lose, you get taken down, you might have gotten put on your back and pinned.

“But if you get beat in a fight, you get choked out, tapped out, someone’s broken something. Wrestling match, if you lose, you go have dinner with your family. MMA, you lose, you go to the hospital.”

Jordan Burroughs' wife ended the idea of his MMA venture and it appears he isn't sure about doing it either. The speculation has officially been shut down by Lauren Burroughs and it appears the MMA dream is over.
