Over recent years, the Los Angeles Clippers have obtained a reputation around the league as a team that likes to complain.

Marreese Speights, who joined the franchise in the summer as a free agent, believes that the team needs to change the way they approach officials.

Speaking on Wednesday night after the Clippers suffered a 115-98 loss to his former team – the Golden State Warriors, Speights revealed how he believes the team can get better, per the Orange County Register:

“First we need to start really just leaving the refs alone,” Speights said. “Guys just got to sacrifice, do some other things than scoring, do some other things than your personal goals. Just try something new.”

“They’ve been doing it here for four or five years and it hasn’t been working, so it’s time to try something new.”

The Clippers were called for three technical fouls during the game, just days after head coach Doc Rivers was ejected from a game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Speights may be onto something, as they will need as much help from officials as possible, if they are to compete with the Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference this year.
