Despite being listed at just 5-foot-3, there's no denying that Muggsy Bogues was a commanding presence during his time in the NBA. So much so, that the diminutive guard had his fair share of on-court bouts against the one and only, Michael Jordan.

Bogues recently guested on Matt Barnes' and Stephen Jackson's All The Smoke podcast, and he was asked to share some of his favorite MJ stories. The 57-year-old then decided to talk about how Jordan loved to mess with him. Muggsy also shed some light on the infamous story about MJ calling him a “midget” (h/t NBA reddit):

“MJ, he always liked to f–k with me,” Bogues said. “… Even off the court, to this day, walking around he'll put his hand up high for me to give him a hig-five, and I'll put my hand down low, you come down to give me a low-five. … They said that he called me a ‘midget,' which is not true. … He always call me short lil' fella or lil' ass.”

There you have it, straight from the horse's mouth. Bogues has just debunked the narrative about Michael Jordan once calling him a “midget.” MJ is many things, and we all know how savage he was as a trash talker. However, it just isn't in his nature to use an unacceptable slur toward one of his competitors.

Muggsy Bogues, who was drafted as the 12th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, is without a doube one the most successful small men in the history of the NBA. He holds career averages of 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 14 playing years.
