A public panic broke out after the Gervonta Davis-Rolando Romero fight amid fears of an active shooting situation. One spectator in attendance who got caught up in the panic was tennis star Naomi Osaka.
Osaka revealed her terrifying experience as she was forced to hide alongside fellow spectators in a locker room.
“I was just in the Barclays center and suddenly I heard shouting and saw people running, then we were being yelled at that there was an active shooter and we had to huddle in a room and close the doors, I was so fucking petrified man,” said Naomi Osaka on Twitter.
I really hope everyone made it out safely, since I’m tweeting this we made it out ok.

While the fear and stress brought about by the incident to Naomi Osaka and all fans in attendance were very real, the actual details on the said gunman or shooting appear to be all over the place. According to a report from the New York Post, the NYPD denied that there were any shots fired.
But the word from reporters on the scene was that there were actual gunshots heard and a possible gunman sighting that occurred outside of Barclays Center after the Gervonta Davis-Rolando Romero fight.
I was inside Barclays Center and end of fight, as everybody was clearing out, there were reports of gunshots. I didn’t hear them but security guard said report on radio was it occurred on concourse. Crazy stampede of people followed. Scary scene.

No word yet on if any arrests were made, but with the current climate of the country, fears of a shooter won't be taken lightly.
