Washington Nationals superstar Juan Soto opened up the MLB trade rumor mill when he rejected the club's monster, 15-year, $440 million contract offer. In a moment of frustration ahead of the MLB All-Star Game, Soto revealed that he feels like he doesn't know “what to trust”, saying that the club's stance on a potential trade has changed on him.

Add in the Nationals' refusal to charter a flight for Soto to Los Angeles for All-Star weekend and it's easy to see why the 2022 Home Run Derby champ is feeling frustrated.

MLB fans got a fleeting glimpse into just how frustrated late Thursday night. During the second episode of The Captain, New York Yankees Hall of Famer Derek Jeter sent out a tweet emphasizing something he said during the airing. Soto then made his feelings known on Twitter in a since-deleted tweet.

Derek Jeter tweeted “loyalty one way is stupidity”, a sentiment he expressed during The Captain. Evidently, Juan Soto was paying attention, as he sent out a single quote tweet of Jeter's post, with just one period.

It seems that Soto, who has expressed a desire to remain with the Nationals, might be feeling that he is being taken advantage of by the organization.

Whether it's due to the contract situation spilling into the rampant MLB trade rumors, or the plane snafu ahead of the Home Run Derby, it's clear from this tweet that Soto is loyal to the Nationals, but only to a certain point.

And the Nationals may have taken Juan Soto to that point. One can bet that rival teams will be circling the trade waters even more after seeing this.
