People had their doubts about the season resume. But luckily after the first month of the NBA Bubble, things are going great so far. Not at all shockingly, it even became a hotspot of the craziest stories in sports for the past month.

Here are our top five most bonkers moments in the NBA Bubble up to this point.

The NBA goes… fishing?

League protocol allowed the quarantined players a limited number of “activities”  they can do in their free time. But who would’ve thought that our basketball idols would have a knack for fishing?

It seems like entire teams went on fishing trips. 76ers star Ben Simmons went viral because of his hilarious attempt at throwing his caught fish back in the water. And it just so happened he did it with the wrong hand

Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell even tried teaching teammate Patrick Beverly how to fish along the hallways.

And they’re not the only ones: Clippers star Paul George, as well as Mavericks talents Luka Doncic and Boban Majanovic, also had pretty bountiful trips to the lake.

The players were allowed to fish on Lake Buena Vista inside the Walt Disney World property. Only five guests are allowed per boat which already has fishing equipment and bait. The players have apparently been showing off their catches too much, as fans began to build conspiracy theories around the idea that the NBA added more fish to the lake on purpose.

P.J. Tucker’s 85-inch NBA Bubble TV

Looks like somebody got heavy luggage. Some players, like Lakers star JR Smith, Nuggets player Troy Daniels, among others have already rang bells about the accommodation quality inside the NBA Bubble. But it looks like Houston’s P.J. Tucker is all set.

The NBA veteran snagged his own 85-inch TV to the bubble, saying that the room needs to feel like home in the next coming months.

“It’s my home for the next three months,” Tucker said. “So, I have to make it as much as home as I could.”

But just in case the huge TV isn’t enough to feel like home. The veteran also brought his 60-pair shoe collection.

He’s not the only one living the high life in the bubble. Montrezl Harrell brought his own portable sauna and Lou Williams took his studio set. 85-inches is definitely a massive upgrade from the standard TV. Maybe Tucker will host movie marathons for his teammates (with physical distancing, of course).

Just wondering though, if this is his type of luxury in the bubble, what more from his own home?

DJ Maxi Kleber

When the Mavericks were still under quarantine, of course they had to keep themselves busy. Big men Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell decided to turn things up a notch by setting up a DJ set and playing music from their rooms.

Each standing on personal balconies, the entire team just went along, danced and vibed with the fishes by the lake. According to Kleber, it was all Powell’s idea. But for the record, whoever directed that video deserves an award.

The pair has already done a number of stunts in the NBA Bubble, including some light hearted golf-racing.

Lou Williams’ chicken wings

The need for chicken wings is greater than any protocol combined – or at least, for Lou Williams it is. In a footage accidentally posted by Rapper Jack Harlow, it turns out Williams, who was on-leave due to a family matter, went on a side-trip to the Magic City strip club in Atlanta.

And yes, it’s been known to be home to the best chicken wings around the area. When the news broke out, Williams was forced to extend his quarantine for 14 days, potentially jeopardizing his appearances in the Clippers’ first games. Insiders and other players were quick to join the meme and some even tried the wings out for themselves.

Their verdict: Totally, worth it

Lebron James’ throne

Only Kings can sit on a throne. Fans went crazy over Lebron James’ chair/throne in one of his media availability sessions. Lakers insider Harrison Faigen tweeted a screenshot of the call where the 15-time All-Star was seen sitting on a red “throne”.

James just laughed off the joke.

“Absolutely not. It’s one of these hallway chairs everybody sits in.”

Lakers coach Frank Vogel didn’t quite receive the same treatment even as James already gave his go-signal for the throne.

Sorry, Vogel. That seat’s already taken, especially in this strange Disney dome known as the NBA Bubble.

The NBA resume tipped off last Thursday, July 30. Just saying, if the NBA pre-playoffs were already this wild off-the-court, who knows what else in store in the coming weeks.
