A highly-touted rookie prospect in LaMelo Ball has reportedly been trending downwards in his pre-draft process ahead of the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. He had not performed well in team interviews which could eventually result to him falling out of the top five come November 18.

“I had a phone call earlier today with somebody who works in the league for a team and he and I talked a lot about LaMelo. There are a lot of people who wonder if he could fall outside the top five. Rick Bonnell, a Hornets writer, reported today that he hadn’t done well in interviews. I’m not sure what to make of that report but I’ve heard similar, that he hasn’t done great in these interviews and workouts and all that.”
According to O'Connor, Chicago is looking to add a playmaker but is willing to pass on selecting LaMelo Ball in the 2020 NBA Draft. Other rebuilding teams in the Cleveland Cavaliers maintained a high interest on the 19-year-old point guard while Atlanta is a side that is reportedly “high” on Ball even if he has a similar playing style with main man Trae Young. Meanwhile, the Detroit Pisons hasn’t had a ton of links to Ball but would certainly see him as a terrific fit to their team.
The youngest Ball brother has long made waves in the basketball scene as a high school player together with his siblings, Lonzo and LiAngelo, for Chino Hills High School. He went on to take his talents to BC Prienai in Lithuania, Los Angeles Ballers in Junior Basketball Association (JBA), Spire Academy, and most recently, the Illawarra Hawks in the National Basketball League (NBL).
His vast playing experience at a young age will certainly help him adjust as he makes the jump to the big leagues. Despite the uncertainties, there is still a lot that can happen over the next few weeks which can ultimately alter LaMelo Ball's fate in the NBA. His next destination will be known come November 18 in the 2020 NBA Draft proceedings.
