The manager of highly-touted NBA Draft prospect LaMelo Ball has recently spoken out about how he feels his client is being used by the people around him to make a ton of money. Jermaine Jackson, who himself played in the NBA between 1999 and 2006, currently manages the affairs of Ball, and the former NBA journeyman himself could not help but take a shot at the people who in his mind, have been profiting off of LaMelo's talent.

“People done made money off this kid for years,” says Jackson, via Mirin Fader of Bleacher Report. “I don't really want to use the word, but it's damn near like he's a prostitute.”

That's one way of putting it, I guess. Then again, if one considers the fact that the NBL — Australia's professional basketball league wherein Ball currently plays in — has reportedly earned millions of dollars since Ball's arrival, then surely, there is some truth in Jackson's statement here. This is not surprising at all considering how much buzz LaMelo has been garnering over the past years.

If there's anyone to blame for this situation, then perhaps one need not look any further than LaMelo's own father, LaVar Ball. The Ball family patriarch has pretty much paraded his sons to the international media, never shy of building up their talent and potential.

The good news for LaMelo here is that as it seems, he certainly holds a lot of talent. So much so, that some are even building him up as a potential first overall pick for the 2020 NBA Draft. This youngster is indeed bound for a very promising career ahead of him, including all the publicity it entails.
