Video: Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard does a Michael Jordan impersonation
The Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors faced off on Thursday night in a massive Game 6 of the NBA Finals. With the specter of Kevin Durant’s injury omnipresent in terms of the stadium giveaways, social media posts by his teammates and jumbotron exhibitions during timeouts, the atmosphere at Oracle Arena was crackling from well before tip-off.
Of course, Game 6 also happened to be the final game in Oracle Arena history, as the Warriors will be moving into the sparkling new Chase Center for the 2019-20 season. As such, the Warriors certainly wanted to put on a show for the home fans in the final game in the history of an extremely storied arena.
However, early on, it was the Raptors (not the Warriors) who were doling out highlight after highlight, as Kyle Lowry erupted for a ton of early buckets and then Kawhi Leonard delivered this — dare we say — Michael Jordan-esque step-back bucket.

Kawhi Leonard was lauded for his use of the off-arm to clear a wee bit of space from Andre Iguodala before dancing backwards for an easy two.
The Raptors will surely need Leonard’s best efforts on the road in Game 6. He actually did not have a particularly brilliant Game 5 despite his impressive scoring fireworks in the fourth quarter, which helped give Toronto a late lead (that they promptly coughed up).
If Leonard can continue to drill shots like the above, though, the Raps are in good shape.
