Former Boston Celtics big man Glen “Big Baby” Davis has found himself in trouble with the law again. According to TMZ Sports, Davis violently assaulted a man outside a Hollywood nightclub. According to the report he almost hit the man with his vehicle, and when the man confronted him, Davis picked him up and threw him to the ground.
The man who was assaulted suffered multiple broken bones in his face and ribs and had to be hospitalized. At the time Davis was considered a person of interest in the case.
Now, TMZ has learned that he turned himself in on Friday and was released on $50,000 b0nd. He is charged with felony assault.
Earlier this year Davis was also arrested in Maryland for distribution of drug charges. According to Brian Kuebler of WMAR:
Aberdeen Police found 126 grams of marijuana and $92,164 in his hotel room “along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics.”
These are both serious charges that could see him go to a prison for a long time if convicted of either or both of the charges.
Davis enjoyed a nice NBA career before stepping away from the game after 2015. His best full season in the league was in 2010-11. He played in 78 games with the Celtics averaging 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
These last two arrests for Davis are a couple of unfortunate missteps for a guy who was always a fan favorite during his time in the association.
