Former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick makes a bold claim concerning Cavs forward Kevin Love, which surely won't please legends from the 75th-anniversary team.

Last week, the NBA announced its top-75 players of all time. Players from the top-50 team in 1996 were retained, and former legends and current superstars fielded the rest.

Of course, like any other list, there were some snubs— causing multiple fans and personalities to debate on the results.

Apart from that, there is this constant debate comparing different eras in the NBA. Primarily, if our players today can match up against legends in the 80s or 90s.

Former sharpshooter JJ Redick gives his take on the comparison of eras, mentioning Kevin Love against all-time greats— surely, these legends won't love his opinion.

“I've tried to provide some middle ground where I acknowledge their greatness in their era. But one of my favorite things a player has said is when Austin Rivers said if he played against Bob Cousy he would be a hall of famer…… he is not wrong.”

“Most NBA players from the 50s, 60s, early 70s could not play in today's NBA. I think that's reality. Of course you have Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain.. .the top ten or so players from that era but the talent from 1 to 450 is through the roof.

“Kevin Love is better than 99% of the power forwards on that list (referring to top 75 list).”

Fans should expect debates involving the top-75 team for years, probably until the NBA announces the top-100 team. Still, Redick only recognizes that the game's evolution is constant.

“I don't want to be that guy in 10 or 20 years from now who is sh*tting on players in 2044. I recognize the game always evolves.”
