Karl-Anthony Towns is the latest NBA star to clap back at Donald Trump after his tweets about LeBron James. On Friday night Trump tweeted out that LeBron James was making CNN's Dom Lemon look smart which isn't easy to do. He also tried to settle the Michael Jordan and LeBron debating stating “I like Mike.”

Trump's tweet came after James said he thought Trump was trying to divide people using sports. James has been very critical of Trump even before he joined office so it was only really a matter of time before Trump tweeted something about James. Trump has seemed to go after just about anyone famous who has spoken out against him.

Towns responded to Trump telling him to “shut your damn mouth” and to maybe start to worry about Towns that need the help like Flint, Michigan.

Towns was also critical of Trump in a Players Tribune article after Trump refused to denounce white supremacists.

I was shocked by how our President responded to Charlottesville.

Our President was given a layup: Denounce white supremacists.

And he couldn’t … and wouldn’t.

He missed … he missed badly.

It’s disheartening when our President doesn’t understand his words carry a tremendous amount of weight. It’s really hard to see our President refuse to stand up for what’s right — at a time when the country needs it. Especially for minorities. It’s not like we’re talking about taxes or something. We’re talking about the big issue that has divided the country since its birth.

Towns and many other celebrities including Jordan have come to the defense of James and this is probably just the beginning of this story.

The NBA community has been in a tizzy every since Friday evening.
