Nick Young of the Golden State Warriors is called Swaggy P for a good reason. He's known for donning flamboyant outfits off the court. But recently, the NBA called a stop to his antics.

To recall, Young showed up in a robe prior to Game 1 of their first-round match-up with the San Antonio Spurs. Did he really just come off from bed then went straight to the game? Or was it an attempt at high-fashion?

Either way, the NBA wasn't fond of his wardrobe. In an interview with Adam Caparell of Complex, Young shared:

“They actually called about the robe,” says Young. “They thought I really wore boxer shorts. They were like, ‘You can’t wear boxers and a robe.’”

Over the past several years, the NBA has been implementing a dress code for its players. It started with former commissioner David Stern, who asked the players to dress in a business casual or conservative outfit prior to every game. Initially, protests were raised by NBA players themselves, stating that the dress code was a jab at hip-hop culture. Gone were the baggy jeans, do-rags, and large jewelry that they used to wear.

But eventually, the dressing rules were embraced by the players. Now, you see them in dapper and sharp outfits by designer brands. The league, for its part, became more lenient in allowing its players to freely put on whatever they want as long as it doesn't outlandishly violate the dressing standards.
