Oklahoma Sooner star Trae Young has been one of the best point guards in the NCAA. Young is a tremendous shooter and passer, and many scouts and fans are comparing him to Stephen Curry because of his excellent 3-point shooting.

Many NBA scouts have been pleased with Young's collegiate production and his current progress. In fact, Young is highly expected to become a lottery pick in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft. Though no matter the player, inefficient slumps will occur. This has definitely been the case for Young who is currently in the worst stretch of his season.

Nonetheless, this hasn't deterred many scouts for recommending him for a lottery pick selection in the summer, per Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.

“If you are a Trae Young fan, the slump does not affect your thinking at all,” one scout replied. “Late-season slumps rarely affect a whole body of work.”

“I still believe in him,” another scout said. “Teams are targeting him with their best defender, double-teams and pressure. He needs his teammates to step up, and they're not. Put him with four pros and things are different. I respect that Trae still plays hard and that he still gets assists.”

After scoring 30 points per game on 45 percent shooting to lead the Sooner to a 16-5 start, Young has slumped a bit, scoring just 21 points on 33 percent shooting. Though, for shooters, slumps are common. Curry is an example of a superstar who dominates during some stretches of the season and slumps a bit in a few games. Therefore, this current slump for Young will unlikely affect his stock and position in the upcoming NBA Draft.
