Phoenix Suns rookie big man Deandre Ayton says the 2018-19 rookie class is unique and the future of the NBA.

Deandre Ayton was the No. 1 overall pick by the Suns. Marvin Bagley III went No. 2 to the Sacramento Kings, followed by Luka Doncic to the Dallas Mavericks, Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Memphis Grizzlies, and Trae Young to the Atlanta Hawks.

Ayton, Bagley, Doncic, and Jackson Jr. were invited by NBA TV to discuss their rookie seasons thus far, and Ayton says the sky is the limit for his fellow rookies.

Ayton is averaging 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds for the Suns while shooting 58.8 percent from the field. He's third among rookies in points per game.

Marvin Bagley III, meanwhile, is putting up 13.3 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Kings. He is shooting 51.5 percent overall and has 10 double-doubles on the season.

Luka Doncic is the front runner to win the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year award. He's averaging 20.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is scoring 13.8 points per game for Memphis and shooting 50.6 percent overall and 35.9 percent from the 3-point line. With Marc Gasol gone, Jackson Jr. is now the face of the franchise in Memphis, as point guard Mike Conley will probably get traded in the summer.

Trae Young got off to a slow start for the Hawks, but he's rounded into form nicely. The guard is tallying numbers of 16.9 points and 7.6 assists. Young has 18 double-doubles on the season.
