Of all of NBA legend Paul Pierce's great moments, such as clutch shots and key plays, one that stands out or rather falls out was his wheelchair incident as a member of the Boston Celtics in the 2008 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Pierce had to leave the game supposedly from sustaining an injury. Last 2019, the Truth said the truth.

In a TrueHoop story by Yaron Weitzman, incidents like these are more common than we thought.

“I’ve seen a couple white shorts where you see someone had a little accident on the back,” Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker stated. “Just ask any NBA equipment manager.”

Letting our bowels do our thing is as human as it gets and top athletes are no exception. This topic was covered in a piece by David Fleming of ESPN. As odd as the subject matter is, it makes one appreciate even more our favorite athletes and how much they have to go through to sustain their peak performance.

Another NBA Finals moment that involved the natural process happened in 1997 to no other than Michael Jordan. His Airness was playing through a bad case of stomach flu. Despite this, he led the Chicago Bulls over the Utah Jazz with 38 points en route to another championship.

The biological, extra hurdle served as an intensifier to an already mythical career. Likewise, Pierce's bathroom break added an interesting footnote in his own body of work, although admittedly it would have been more inspiring if he battled through an actual injury to return to the game.
