With the 2020-2021 NBA season set to tip off later this month, the regular season schedule of teams are starting to take shape.
The Washington Wizards are among them, with NBC Sports Washington’s Chase Hughes reporting that their season will likely start on December 23 with a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Hughes also included a couple of games on their schedule that should interest Wizards fans.
Specific dates are tentative, but I'm hearing the Wizards' schedule is likely to begin at the Sixers on 12/23 & that they'd face John Wall & HOU for 1st time on 1/26. Wall's return to D.C. would be 2/15.
I'm being vague b/c it could still be adjusted. Supposed to come out today.

It seems as if the Wizards will face the Houston Rockets on January 26, which will mark the teams’ first meeting since a stunning trade involving point guards John Wall and Russell Westbrook a couple of days ago. Wall, who spent his entire career in Washington was sent to the Rockets along with a first round pick in exchange for Westbrook, who will now team up with another All Star in Bradley Beal.
Article Continues BelowThe 30-year old Wall, a five-time All Star during his time with the Wizards, will play to Washington for the first time since the trade on February 15. A player’s first game against his former team will always be a must-watch, and Wall’s return to the team that selected him with the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft will be no different.
It’s interesting to see how the Wizards fans will receive their former All Star, who already posted a heartfelt note on social media thanking the team and their fans. But based on the comments on his thank you note to DC fans, John Wall should get a warm welcome at the Capital One Arena when he plays against the team that drafted him for the first time.
Meanwhile, the game will also be a chance for Russell Westbrook to prove doubters wrong and show that he can still play at a high level and can co-exist with Beal in Washington.
