Former New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony hasn't appeared on an NBA court since announcing his retirement from basketball earlier this year. Anthony enjoyed an illustrious career, establishing himself as one of the greatest scorers in basketball history during his tenures with both the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets, along with a handful of other stops later in his career, but even at 39 years old, it appears that some teams are still interested in the scoring icon's services.

Recently, Anthony took to his 7PM In Brooklyn podcast, courtesy of Wave Sports + Entertainment, and was asked which teams, if any, had called him up since he announced his retirement in May.

“China,” answered Anthony with a smile. “The Pelicans called… That would have been that jersey: Hide that, hide that.”

Anthony also took the time to speak on his love for the game.

“You could put me anywhere on God's green Earth, and we're going to play,” said Anthony. “I'll play one on one with anybody.”

Carmelo Anthony in a New Orleans Pelicans jersey would definitely be a bit of a bizarre image to process. But of course, so was the sight of Anthony in the jersey of the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and other teams during the closing years of his career.

While Anthony may not have any interest in lacing up the kicks in the NBA any longer, no one can deny the sheer star power that he possessed in the league, particularly during his stint with the Knicks during the 2010's.
